The Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic installed the General Managers of the Agence d’Administration des Zones Économiques Spéciales (AAZES) on Friday afternoon, November 04, 2022, and returned them to their duties.
They are Ousmane Abdramane Djougourou and Nicole Ndoubayo, respectively Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director, appointed to head the Agence d’Administration des Zones Économiques Spéciales (AAZES) on October 31.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr Mahamat Borgou Hassan reminded the new managers of the mission assigned to this new structure, which reports directly to the Presidency of the Republic. According to him, this structure will eventually create 45.000 jobs. Financed to the tune of 500 billionCFA francs, it will see the construction of 10 economic zones specializing in the processing and marketing of meat and meat by-products. These economic zones will be built respectively in Sarh (Moyen-Chari), Moundou (Logone-Occidental), Am-Djarass (Ennedi Est), Ati (Batha), Dourbali (Chari-Baguirmi) and N’Djaména.
Taking up his official post, AAZES General Manager, Ousmane Abdramane Djougourou warmly thanked General MAHAMAT IDRISS DEBY ITNO, President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Head of State, for the trust placed in his modest person. He promises to work hard with his deputy to succeed in this mission, which is to ensure the administration, regulation, control and monitoring of activities relating to the development and management of Chad’s special economic zones.
The Agency for the Administration of Special Economic Zones was created on July 28, 2022 by decree of the Head of State. It is structured around a Board of Directors and General Management.
The general managers have been installed, a framework agreement will be signed with the partners on November 05, and the foundation stone for the construction of the first economic zone is due to be laid in the last ten days of November in Moundou, capital of the Logone Occidental province.
